Celebrating Surf Photographer Lee Pegus

Lee Pegus Life Celebration

Friends of Lee Pegus, please join us to celebrate the life and legacy of much loved local surf photographer Lee Pegus with an old-style slide night.

We've pored through Lee's archives and filled a few carousels with the pick of his remarkable body of work, which provides a rich document of surfing on the Gold Coast in the '80s and '90s, as well as high points from his travels to Hawaii and beyond. Lee's fondly remembered as long time photo editor for Surfing Life magazine, a man who treasured memorable surfing images and earned the trust and affection of all who worked with him.
Lee was a Surfers Paradise identity in the 1960s, stylish goofyfoot, model and super stylish guy that came from the Surfers Paradise period and gravitated to become one of the best photo editors in the country, such was the respect from peers in the media and photography world that lavished praise on his professional work especially the legendary slide show nights that he famously hosted at Morrison Media.See Less
